Privacy policy

Protecting the security and privacy of your personal data is important to us, and we conduct our business in compliance with the applicable laws on data protection and data security. An external, independent data protection officer monitors our actions to ensure legal conformity.

Personal data

In principle, you are allowed to visit our website without giving your identity. If you send us an e-mail or contact form, your message and your e-mail address will only be used to correspond with you. The processing of your communication may require this to be forwarded to other sections within the DIN Group. It will not be forwarded to third parties. In certain cases, such as when you use our online services, it may be necessary to collect, process and use your personal data. Please take note of the relevant data privacy notices in such cases.

Utilization data

When you access our website, you provide us with utilization data on, for example, screen resolution, browser version, Internet access, operating system, language, plug-ins, where you are (in terms of country or region), and search engines. DIN will only use these data for statistical purposes. They will not be forwarded to third parties and will not be analysed in relation to the user.

Use of cookies

When visiting individual pages, session cookies are used to facilitate navigation on the site. These cookies expire when the session is closed and do not contain personal data (i.e. the content of the cookies is not evaluated in relation to the user).

When visiting our web sites data is collected and saved anonymously by etracker GmbH (www.etracker.de) for marketing and optimisation purposes. All visitor data is saved using an anonymous user ID (pseudonym) and can be used to aggregate a usage profile. Cookies may be used to collect and save this data, but the data remains strictly anonymous. The data collected via etracker technology will not be used to determine the personal identity of the website visitor or compiled with personal data pertaining to the user of the pseudonym. The collection and storage of data may be revoked at any time with respect to subsequent services.
